Praying the Rosary for Peace

Peace in the world is a great prayer intention carried by the Church. To answer this request, we can pray the rosary. We know that the power of this prayer is very important when we reread the history of the rosary. There are many spiritual benefits that we can also experience. It's not a grace left to the saints.

Pray for peace: a request from Our Lady of Fatima

During her apparitions to the three shepherds of Fatima, the Virgin repeatedly asked us to pray for peace. This is one of the specific messages of these apparitions. Notre Dame said: “Pray the rosary every day, to obtain peace in the world and the end of the war.” This message transmitted by the three little children of Fatima is still valid for us today. Praying the Rosary for peace is very important in the face of all the wars that are breaking out in the world. It is an intention often spoken of by Pope Francis, who suffers to see so many innocent people killed in various conflicts.

The process of the rosary

We can pray the rosary individually or as a group We can follow the steps and start with this prayer and entrust this prayer intention to Jesus: O Lord Jesus, through the intercession of your Mother, I come to entrust to you the peace in the world which is a precious good, often threatened. So many men, women, and children are dying because of various conflicts. Come and restore peace and console the grieving. We ask you this through this rosary that we are going to recite.

We can then start with:

  • an I believe in God
  • an Our Father
  • three Hail Marys

Then we can meditate on the mystery of the rosary related to the day of the week

After each mystery meditation, say a decade of the rosary starting with an Our Father, then ten Hail Marys and ending with a Glory Be.

At the end of each decade, we can conclude with the prayer of the children of Fatima taught by the angel : “My God, I believe, I love, I hope and I love you. I beg your forgiveness for those who do not believe, who do not worship, who do not hope and do not love you.”

To which saints can I entrust this prayer intention?

Our Lady of Fatima asked us to pray the rosary for peace. We can also ask for the intercession of Saint Francis of Assisi. Throughout his life, it was something that he always wanted to preserve, especially during his participation in one of the crusades. He wrote a prayer that we can take the time to read after the rosary in order to work toward peace ourselves.
