The Kyrie

The Kyrie Eleison is a liturgical Catholic and Orthodox prayer. The invocations are said during Mass, during, or after the Penitential Preparation to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Though it is associated with Latin prayers, the Kyrie is actually a greek prayer. It is sung by Christians, repenting for their sins before Communion. Kyrie is also part of some litanies, along with the Agnus Dei.
