Morning Psalms

Here are 4 inspiring psalms to get your day off to a good start. Morning prayer is an important moment for every Christian, as it allows us toexpress our gratitude, our trust in God, our desire to follow the Lord's ways and do his will throughout the day.
"I turn to you, Lord, in the morning, you hear my voice"
Whether it's to face a difficult day with theday with Psalm 5, to remind ourselves of God's greatness with Psalm 18(19) or to let God guide us with confidence with Psalm 22 (23), starting the day with a psalm is the guarantee of a blessed day!

Psalm 5: Let God guide you through the day

"Hear my words, O Lord, understand my complaint; hear my voice calling to you, O my King and my God!
I turn to you, O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare for you and stay awake.
You are not a God who is a friend to evil; the wicked are not received by you.
No, the fool will not stand before your gaze. You hate all evil-doers, you exterminate liars; the man of cunning and blood, the Lord hates him.
As for me, thanks to your love, I enter your house; towards your holy temple, I bow down in awe.
Lord, let your justice lead me; enemies lie in wait for me: make your path straight before me.
Nothing is true in their mouths; they are full of malice; their throat is a gaping sepulchre, and their tongue a snare.
Rejoice for those who take shelter in you, eternal joy! You protect them; for you they exult, those who love your name.
You, Lord, bless the righteous; with the shield of your favor you cover him."

Psalm 18 (19): For a positive attitude throughout the day

"The heavens declare the glory of God, the firmament tells of the work of his hands.
Day to day gives account of it, and night to night gives knowledge of it.
No words in this account, no voice that can be heard; but over all the earth appears the message and the news of it, to the ends of the world. There is the dwelling place of the sun: like a bridegroom, it appears from its tent, it rushes forth as a joyful conqueror.
He appears where the sky begins, he goes where the sky ends: nothing escapes his ardor.
The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring life; the charter of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are upright, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is clear, clarifying the eye.
The fear it inspires is pure, it is there forever; the Lord's decisions are just and truly fair: more desirable than gold, than a mass of fine gold, tastier than honey flowing from the combs.
So your servant is enlightened by them; in keeping them, he finds his profit.
Who can discern his errors? Purify me from those that escape me.
Preserve also your servant from pride: let it have no hold over me. Then I will be blameless, pure from great sin.
Receive the words of my mouth, the murmur of my heart; let them come before you, O Lord, my rock, my defender!"

Psalm 22 (23): To face the day with confidence and serenity

"The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want.
On meadows of fresh grass he makes me lie down. He leads me to still waters and makes me live again; he guides me by the right path for the honor of his name.
If I cross the ravines of death, I fear no evil, for you are with me: your staff guides me and reassures me.
You prepare a table for me before my enemies; you pour incense on my head, my cup overflows.
Grace and happiness are with me all the days of my life; I will dwell in the house of the Lord for all my days."

Psalm 99 (100): Praise God in the morning

"Acclaim the Lord, all the earth; serve the Lord with gladness; come to him with songs of joy!

Acknowledge that the Lord is God: he has made us, and we are his, his people, his flock.

Come to his house to give thanks, to his dwelling to sing his praises; give thanks to him and bless his name!

Yes, the Lord is good, eternal is his love, his faithfulness endures from age to age."
