Five First Saturdays In Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

The Rosary and the First Saturdays are the great desire of both the Hearts of Jesus and Mary for these dangerous times. Heaven is pleading with sinful earth!

The story

In 1917, in a small village in Portugal, called Fatima, the Blessed Virgin appeared several times to three young shepherds - Lucia, Jacinta & Francisco. To prevent a war worse than the one raging at the time, Our Lady made a very special request:

To prevent this (war), I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart,  and the Communion of Reparation of the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The holy Father will consecrate Russia to me and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.  (July 1917)

On December 10th 1925,  Our Lady appeared again to Lucia, with the Child Jesus in Pontevedra, Spain with the message requesting the First Saturdays of Reparation. Our Lady rested her hand on Lucia's shoulder, and showed her a heart encircled by thorns in her mother hand.

The Child Jesus spoke first:

Have pity on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother. It is covered with the thorns which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to make an act of reparation to remove them.

Then Our Lady said:

My daughter, look at My Heart surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You, at least, try to console me, and say that I promise to assist at the hour of death, with all graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me.

What next?

The Holy Father Pope St. John Paul II fulfilled the request of Our Lady of Fatima for the Consecration of Russia on March 25th 1984, and it was solemnly renewed by His Holiness Pope Francis on March 25th 2022.

Father Alonso, a specialist in the apparitions of Fatima said :

The conversion of Russia will only come about as the fruit of the widespread and intense consecration of all the members and communities of the Church. For this reason (...) it is necessary to exhort the faithful to realize their personal consecration and to live it intensely. This is the best way to hasten the hour of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the coming of the Kingdom of God on earth.

This echoes a preaching by Luisella Scrosati, Doctor of Theology:

While we hope for peace, we must also be very careful not to consider the consecration to Our Lady as a magical act, by which we obtain what we want. It would be defying God to ask for peace and prosperity, without wanting to put an end to sin, without wanting to abandon a way of life, in private and in public, that offends God. Penance is absolutely necessary, as is reparation.

The faithful are invited to consecrate themselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Sr. Lucia said in 1992: "What is still missing and what Our Lady requests is the effective consecration of our hearts, our communities and families."

Thank you for bringing to the fore Our Lady's locution that the First Saturday Devotion and Communion of Reparation are a necessary constituent of the fruitfulness of the Fatima Consecration, and that war and peace in our world depend on it.

- Bishop John Keenan, 2022

The clergy and faithful are invited to practice the First Saturdays of Reparation.

On each First Saturday of the Month :

1. Go to Confession

2. Attend Holy Mass and make a Communion of Reparation

3. Pray the Holy Rosary

4. Spend 15 minutes meditating on Sacred Scripture

All with the intention of making Reparation for the sins committed against the

Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Do we love enough to put Heaven's humble plea into action? Do we believe that our participation in the First Saturdays can help change the world and bring peace?

How?

Inquire in your local parish if they do the 5 Saturdays. If not, perhaps encourage your parish priest. If your parish already has Mass and Confessions - perhaps suggest that you will help lead the Rosary and the 15 minute scriptural meditation.

Here, we will send you prayers and encouragements for each first Saturday, including texts of a 15 minute scriptural meditation.

Bishop John Keenan exhorts us to do all we can to propagate the First Saturdays and the Rosary for the peace of the world.

Prayer from the community

Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

O Mary, Virgin most powerful and Mother of Mercy, Queen of Heaven and Refuge of Sinners, we consecrate ourselves to thy Immaculate Heart. We consecrate to thee our very being and our whole life: all that we have, all that we love, all that we are. To thee we give our bodies, our hearts, and our souls; to thee we give our homes, our families and our country. We desire that all that is in us and around us may belong to thee and may share in the benefits of thy motherly blessing. And, that this act of consecration may be truly fruitful and lasting, we renew this day at thy feet the promises of our Baptism and Confirmation. We pledge ourselves to profess courageously and at all times the truths of our holy Faith, and to live as befits Catholics, who are submissive to all directions of the Pope and the bishops in communion with him. We pledge ourselves to keep the Commandments of God and His Church, in particular to keep holy the Lord's Day. We pledge ourselves to make the consoling practices of the Christian religion, and above all, Holy Communion, an important part of our lives, in so far as we shall be able to do. Finally, we promise thee, O glorious Mother of God and loving Mother of all, to devote ourselves wholeheartedly to the spreading of devotion to thy Immaculate Heart, in order to hasten and assure, through the queenly rule of thy Immaculate Heart, the coming of the kingdom of the Sacred Heart of thy adorable Son, in our own hearts and in those of all people, in our country, and in all the world, as in Heaven, so on earth. Amen.
