Day 3 : Where is your treasure? - Defining my dream job!

Jesus' advice : Gospel according to St. Matthew (13: 44-48)

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man has found it, he hides it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he has to buy the field.

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls.

When he has found one of great value, he goes away and sells everything he has and buys it.

“Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and that has caught all kinds of fish.

When it is full, the fishermen pulls it up onto the shore. Then they sit down and collect the good fish in baskets, but throw the bad ones away.

Action of the day:

“There where your treasure is, there too will be your heart.” (Matthew 6:21)  What is my objectif in my life and in my work? What do I hold dear?

Do I know exactly what work I am looking for? Is the treasure that I am looking for the same as the one that my heart holds dear? Am Am I conscious of what I want and don't want in my next job? Am I aware of what I can or cannot do, will or will not do? Where can there be compromise?

Today, I define my job.

What are my skills? Which ones do I want to develop and improve? Which ones do I lack? What salary do I need to earn to keep up my current lifestyle? Where am I willing to cut back? What is my dream salary?

If you are a sponsor, send one or two compliments to the person you are sponsoring, through texts or e-mails or messenger (all these ways are good!)

SAINT JOSEPH, MODEL FOR LABOURERS

Joseph, Model of Labourers Good Saint Joseph, when God wanted a family for his Son, He looked among the labourers, and chose you along with Mary, demonstrating His esteem for human work. You put your heart into your work, and share your workshop with Jesus. Your work, like that of other humans, found new meaning in the presence of God. Sustain us in the hope of finding work when we are confronted with the desolation of unemployment. Counsel business leaders to create an equitable division of labour that is respectful of individuals, and promotes our growth and happiness. Help us to perform our work joyfully, conscientiously, fairly and honestly. Prepare our hearts to recognize your Son in our colleagues at work. Amen. (St. Joseph Oratory, Montreal, CANADA)
