What are the O antiphons?

From December 17 to 23, the liturgy uses seven short prayers that are a mosaic of biblical references. Known as O antiphons, they condense and reaffirm the messianic hope of the Old Testament that is set on Christ. The antiphons (written around the sixth or seventh century) are sung each day at Vespers.

The initial letters of each antiphon, when read in reverse order, form the phrase: "ero cras" which means

"tomorrow I will be there".

Each day you will receive the following:

  • a meditation
  • a video with the singing of the antiphon O with the Magnificat in Gregorian chant

Who are we, Harpa Dei?

A brief word about the animators of the prayer program:

Four siblings of blood and community, they are Nikolai, Lucia, Marie-Elisée and Mirjana Gerstner, who were born in Germamy and raised in Ecuador, and who founded the Harpa Dei Choir to evangelize through sacred song.

Retreat prayer

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And let us not enter into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen
