1st May: My Month With Mary

Opening Prayer

Come Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary your well-beloved spouse. (3 times)

Quote from a Saint

"Chosen soul, living image of God and redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, God wants you to become holy like him in this life, and glorious like him in the next. It is certain that growth in the holiness of God is your vocation. All your thoughts, words, actions, everything you suffer or undertake must lead you towards that end." (St Louis de Montfort)

Reflection

A man once said, “In my own life I have found that in trusting God and opening my heart to his providence, he is a God who is never outdone with his generosity. The more I have learned to give and not hold anything back, the more it seems to give God permission to pour out an abundance of grace and blessings in my everyday life. We cannot be too generous.”

Resolution

How much time do we put aside each day for personal prayer and reflection? Let us ask the Blessed Virgin Mary for the grace to be generous as God is generous.

Marian Prayer: The Magnificat

My soul glorifies the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God, my Saviour.
He looks on his servant in her lowliness;
henceforth all ages will call me blessed.

The Almighty works marvels for me.
Holy his name!
His mercy is from age to age,
on those who fear him.

He puts forth his arm in strength
and scatters the proud-hearted.
He casts the mighty from their thrones
and raises the lowly.

He fills the starving with good things,
sends the rich away empty.

He protects Israel, his servant,
remembering his mercy,
the mercy promised to our fathers,
to Abraham and his sons forever.

Daily Consecration to the Blessed Virgin

My Queen and my Mother, I give myself entirely to you, and, in proof of my affection, I give you my eyes, my ears, my tongue, my heart, my whole being without reserve. Since I am your own, keep me and guard me as your property and possession. Amen.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
