The Tough get going!
Numbers 11:17
And I will come down and speak with you (Moses) there, and I will take some of the Spirit who is on you and put that Spirit upon them. They will help you bear the burden of the people, so that you do not have to bear it by yourself.
Numbers 11:25
Then the LORD descended in the cloud and spoke to him (Moses). He took some of the Spirit that was on Moses and placed the Spirit on the seventy elders. As the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they never did it again.
Meditation
Last time we saw that God calls each of us by name and has given us unique gifts and skills. Here again God tells us why He has decided to share His Spirit. The Spirit gives the elders enthusiasm and helps them to believe and trust in God's plan for His people especially when life is burdensome (difficult). Do you “get going when the going gets tough" by continuing to believe and trust even when you feel as if you are carrying the world on your shoulders? How many people today believe in God, a loving and merciful Father?
Despite what the media says, we as Christians carry the burden of continuing to hope and believe in a loving and merciful God. The Church asks us continually to pray for all those who do not know God's merciful love and to pray for their conversion. As Our Holy Mother says “Pray, pray, pray my children”!
Meet the Challenge
During the coming two weeks, take some time to think about your life up to the present. Go as far back as you can remember and see where in each situation God had been a loving and merciful Father especially when you saw no way of the situation being solved or getting better. How did God intervene? Was it through family, friends, and or strangers?
Let's Pray
Dear God, I thank You for each time that I have felt your loving arms holding me especially when I thought that my world was crumbling! Thank you for always solving a problem in the most unexpected way. Help me never to doubt that You are a loving and merciful Father. You alone know what is best for me even if I don't understand Your ways. Help me to keep trusting and to always ask "What would You do God in this situation?" Amen.
Let's Praise Him
