Therese's life is marked by suffering: the death of her mother, the unexpected departure of her sister Pauline, the humiliating illness of her beloved father, the tuberculosis that killed her so young. It is at the heart of these trials that Therese discovers the goodness of her God, and that she discovers herself, all loved.
It is for the sick, the sinners that the Savior came.
Therese, when you read your life again, you offered yourself to the Lord, he healed you. When you understood that everything passes away, you knew how to rely on the only necessary and abandon yourself to Him whose love is forever faithful.
Take a moment to treasure up all these things and ponder them in your heart (cf Luke 2,19)
Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
