With the exception of the book The imitation of Jesus that she knew by heart, of other texts by John of the Cross, and of some lecturers who managed to keep her mind awake, the word of God was her true nourishment. Through her reading, she tasted how good the Lord is. "Let yourself be taught by Christ!".
It is near this source that you lead us, Therese. You took care to entrust yourself to your Master's Word. You made it yours. The seed sprouted in you, it bore fruit a hundredfold. You had no other project than that of the Lord. In Him, you dwell.
Take a moment to treasure up all these things and ponder them in your heart (cf Luke 2,19)
