We simply need to humble ourselves
"He reaches out his hand to us, the very moment he sees us fully convinced of our nothingness and hears us cry out: "My food stumbles, Lord, but thy mercy is my strength." Should we attempt great things, however, even under pretext of zeal, he deserts us. So all we have to do is to humble ourselves, to bear with meekness our imperfections. Here lies, for us, true holiness."
Lord, through the intercession of our dear St Therese, give us more humility and remove our pride. Help us to desire constantly for you to chip away at our pride which is like a persistent noxious weed and to cultivate our humility, which is like a little violet that is discreet in habit, in colour, in scent and is also edible! In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
