Christmas Novena - Day 8 - Faith

MEDITATION :

A faith is firm when a relationship of friendship with the Lord is born. An authentic faith is confirmed by good works, so that religion is not only prayers, rites and traditions.

We must cultivate faith through the Bible, prayer and religious practice, because faith is our best support during a crisis. We need great faith in ourselves, in God and in others.

Faith without hesitation, as Jesus wanted it (Mark 11:12-14, 20-25):

"The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard him say it. . »
In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly, I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

A faith that illuminates love with the power of trust, for "love believes all things" (1 Corinthians 13:7).

Faith is the force of life. Without it, we go to drift: "He who has lost faith has nothing more to lose. »

How good it is that we take care of our faith as a treasure! How good it is that we can be greeted as Our Lady was greeted! "Blessed is she who believed!" (Saint Luke 1:45).

Take a moment to treasure up all these things and ponder them in your heart (cf Luke 2,19)

Memorare to Saint Joseph

Remember, O most pure spouse of the Virgin Mary, my beloved Patron, that never it has been heard that anyone invoked your patronage and sought your aid without being comforted. Inspired by this confidence I come to you and fervently commend myself to you. Despise not my petition, O dearest foster father of our Redeemer, but accept it graciously. Amen.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
