Christmas Novena - Day 4 - Sincerity

Main post image

MEDITATION :

Sincerity is a quality without which love cannot survive, because there is no love where there is lies. To love is to advance in truth, without masks, without the weight of hypocrisy and with the strength of integrity.

It is only in truth that we are free, as Jesus Christ announced (Saint John 8:31):

"If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples; Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free".

It is only on the solid rock of truth that a relationship can be maintained in crises and problems. Through sincerity, we gain trust, and through trust we achieve understanding and unity.

Love teaches us not to act like the selfish and proud who believe that their truth is the truth.

If Christmas brings us closer to the truth, it is a good Christmas: it is a holiday in which we welcome Jesus as the true light that comes into the world (Saint John 1:9-12):

"The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Jesus is therefore the true Light that drives out our darkness, that incites us to accept God as the way, the truth and the life. May our love always be illuminated by truth, so that it may also be increased by trust.

Memorare to Saint Joseph

Remember, O most pure spouse of the Virgin Mary, my beloved Patron, that never it has been heard that anyone invoked your patronage and sought your aid without being comforted. Inspired by this confidence I come to you and fervently commend myself to you. Despise not my petition, O dearest foster father of our Redeemer, but accept it graciously. Amen.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
