Day 3: The Vision of Guilt

Daily verse:

When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by a spirit of burning. - Isaiah 4:4

Meditation:

On this third day, let us reflect on the horrific nature of sin. In this life, we often fail to see the hideousness of sin, but we will face it in the life to come. It is a great suffering for the Holy Souls.

Lord, we thank You for Your perfect kindness. Grant us repentance for our sins.

Prayer:

Let us commend to Jesus Christ and His holy Mother the souls in Purgatory, in particular those of our relatives, benefactors, friends, and enemies; especially those for whom we are bound to pray; and let us offer the following considerations and prayers for them, pondering over the great sufferings which these spouses of Christ endure.

O my God! because Thou art infinite goodness, I love Thee above all things, and repent with my whole heart of my offenses against Thee. Grant me the grace of holy perseverance. Have compassion on me, and, at the same time on the Holy Souls suffering in Purgatory. O Mary, Mother of God, come to their assistance with thy powerful intercession.

Our Father...

Hail Mary...

On Thy Spouses have compassion,
On these suffering children Thine;
Make these Holy Souls partakers
Of Thy happiness Divine.

Blessed Souls, I have prayed for thee; I entreat thee, who are so dear to God, and who are secure of never losing Him, to pray for me, miserable sinner, who is in danger of being damned, and of losing God forever. Amen.
