Chaplet St. Michael the Archangel

In his apparition to Antónia d'Astónaco, a Carmelite nun, St. Michael the Archangel requested that a prayer of salutation to the nine Choirs of Angels be composed to assist him in his fight against Satan. The chaplet of St. Michael (also known as the Rosary of the Angels) resulted from this encounter in the XVIII century.

The Chaplet of St. Michael: a Prayer of Deliverance and Protection

St. Michael is a celestial fighter: accompanied by his army of angels and the Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the Angels, he opposes the rebellious angels and slays the dragon. You can pray for his assistance in your spiritual combat.

Whatever struggle you are currently facing, do not hesitate to turn to the powerful intercession of St. Michael. God sent us reliable allies to help us face our challenges on earth: His angels are with us.

St. Michael promised to whoever would pray this chaplet that they would receive his help in this life, and after, in purgatory. If the prayer is recited before taking communion, they would also be accompanied by the nine Choirs of Angels during the Eucharist.

How to Recite the Chaplet of St. Michael?

The Chaplet Structure and the Salutations to the 9 Choirs of Angels

You recite the Chaplet of St. Michael using a special chaplet of 39 beads:

  • Nine groups of three small beads (on which you recite three ‘Hail Marys’)

  • Separated by large beads (on which you recite one ‘Our Father’)

  • 4 beads before the medal.

You begin the chaplet by the signing of the cross, then you recite the opening prayer:

 “O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever, time without end.

Amen.”

On each of the 4 beads, you recite one ‘Our Father’ (one for each of the Archangels: St. Michael, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael, and one for your guardian angel).

Next, to pray to each of the nine Choirs of Angels, you recite:

  • One ‘Our Father’ on the large bead;

  • Three ‘Hail Marys’ on the three small beads;
