Consecration to the Holy Spirit
As a Christian, it's important to pray to the Holy Spirit. Along with the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit is part of the Triune God. The divine breath is what animates and inspires us, making us living Christians and bearers of the Good News. To be filled with it, as the apostles were at Pentecost, we can recite this act of consecration to the Holy Spirit.
Act of consecration to the Holy Spirit
"O Holy Spirit, divine Spirit of light and love, I consecrate to you my mind, my heart and my will, my whole being, for time and eternity.
May my mind always be docile to your heavenly inspirations and to the teachings of the holy Catholic Church, of which you are the infallible guide;
May my heart always be inflamed with the love of God and neighbor;
May my will always be in conformity with the divine will.
Grant me the grace, O Holy Spirit, Spirit of the Father and of the Son, to say to you always and everywhere: "Speak Lord, your servant is listening! "
Spirit of wisdom, preside over all my thoughts, words and actions, from the present hour until the hour of my death.
Spirit of understanding, enlighten me, teach me.
Spirit of counsel, guide my inexperience.
Spirit of strength, fortify my weakness.
Spirit of knowledge, dispel my ignorance.
Spirit of piety, make me persevere in the right path.
Spirit of fear, deliver me from all evil.
Spirit of peace, give me your peace.
May my whole life be a faithful imitation of the life and virtues of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom, with the Father and you, be honor and glory forever.
So be it."
