Morning praise and worship
Although praise and adoration do not define exactly the same type of prayer among Christians, both attitudes are similar in their gratuitousness towards the Lord. They ask for nothing, but are totally turned towards God , whose greatness they glorify. Ifadoration is more associated with a silent, recollected practice, as in adoration eucharistique, praise is an exultation of being, and is often expressed through words - particularly from the psalms - songs and gestures. Why praise God in the morning?
Of course, we can praise God at any time of day, but morning prayer is particularly a time for praise."God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” Evening came, and morning followed—the first day. (Psalm 5)
Every morning, to praise God is to glorify:
- God, the Creator of all things and of all the mornings of the world: "God called the light 'day', he called the darkness 'night'. There was evening and there was morning: the first day"(Genesis 1:5
- Jesus, our Redeemer, whose victory over death, through his resurrection, is revealed to us on Easter morning:he admitted and did not deny it, but admitted, “I am not the Messiah.” (John 1, 20
The day that dawns reminds us of the new era Jesus has ushered in. He is our new dawn.
In the liturgy of the hours, the morning office is that of lauds (whose word comes from praise). The introduction to this morning prayer - once reserved for monks and nuns, but now taken up by many lay people - is: "I will teach the wicked your ways, that sinners may return to you. Rescue me from violent bloodshed, God, my saving God, and my tongue will sing joyfully of your justice. Lord, you will open my lips; and my mouth will proclaim your praise. (Psalms 51:15-17)
Psalms of praise
One of the most beautiful and simple ways to praise God is to use the words of the psalms. These poetic songs, partly attributed to King David, are biblical texts from the Old Testament. Many of the 150 psalms are psalms of praise and thanksgiving to God.
Here are three psalms that can be recited in the morning to praise the Lord:
- a hymn: Psalm 148 (149), which sings the glory of God "Alleluia! Praise the Lord from heaven, praise him on high. You, all his angels, praise him, praise him, all the universes." (Find the complete text of psalm 148 (149))
- a psalm of adoration: psalm 94 (95) "Come, let us shout for joy for the Lord, let us acclaim our Rock, our salvation! Let us go up to him giving thanks, with our festive hymns let us acclaim him! "

- a psalm of thanksgiving: psalm 102 (103) " Bless the Lord, O my soul, bless his most holy name, all my being! Bless the Lord, O my soul, forget none of his benefits!"

Songs of praise
Songs of praise are a common feature of liturgical celebrations. While they help to make Masses dynamic and joyful, they are prayers nonetheless.Singing is praying twice", said St. Augustine.
Here are two songs of praise to sing at home first thing in the morning!
"Let my mouth sing your praise
1- From you, Lord, we expect life,
Let my mouth sing your praise.
You are for us a bulwark, a support,
Let my mouth sing your praise.
The joy of our hearts comes from you, O Lord,
Let my mouth sing your praise.
Our trust is in your most holy name!
Let my mouth sing your praise.
Refrain: Sois loué Seigneur, pour ta grandeur,
Sois loué pour toutes tes bienfaits.
Gloire à toi Seigneur, tu es vainqueur,
Your love floods our hearts.
Que ma bouche chante ta louange.
2- Lord, you have lightened our night,
Let my mouth sing your praise.
You are light and clarity to our steps,
Let my mouth sing your praise.
You strengthen our hands for battle,
Let my mouth sing your praise.
Lord, you strengthen us in faith!
Let my mouth sing your praise.
Refrain

"How can we not praise you?"
Refrain: How can we not praise you? (ter) Lord Jesus! How can we? How can I not praise you?
1- When I look around me, I see your glory,
Lord Jesus, I bless you.
How can I not praise you Lord Jesus! How can I not praise you? How can I do this?
2- When I look around me, I see my brothers,
Lord Jesus, thank you for them.
How can I not praise you Lord Jesus! How can I? How can I not?
