You will receive :

  • DAY 1 to DAY 5 : excerpts from the life of saint Josemaría Escrivá and from some of his texts.

The Church celebrates saint  Josemaría Escrivá's feast day on the 26th of June, the anniversary of his death.

3. Where do these texts come from?

They are written (biography, reflexions on spirituality) or selected (prayers) by François Gondrand.

They are compiled in a booklet on St. Josemaría Escrivá (illustrated by Augustin Frison-Roche), edited by the organisation "Connaissance des Saints de Notre Temps".
(free booklet available in French on : http://saints-de-notre-temps.fr)

4. The organisation "Connaissances des Saints de Notre Temps"

CNST was created under the 1901 French law on organisations. Its aim is to spread awareness on contemporary saints (ordained, consecrated or lay), to help as many good-willed people as possible grow into holiness, following the path of these saints and beatified individuals. Their proximity with us in time makes their stories all the more touching and stimulating.

The organisation is led by volunteers. As of today, 14 booklets have been edited (from around 3000 to 15000 copies.) including some booklets dedicated to Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, Blessed Chiara Luce and Saint Edith Stein.

5. Spread the word !

Now it's your turn to invite your friends and the people you meet to share this novena far and wide, so together you may all learn to grow into holiness, under the benevolent guidance of saint Josemaría Escrivá.

Prayer from the novena

Prayer by saint JM Escrivá (from "The Forge")

Lord, we are glad to find ourselves in your wounded palm. Grasp us tight, squeeze us hard, make us lose all our earthly wretchedness, purify us, set us on fire, make us feel drenched in your Blood. And then, cast us far, far away, hungry for the harvest, to sow the seed more fruitfully each day, for Love of you.
