LET'S PRAY FOR 9 DAYS WITH SAINT JOSE MARIA ESCRIVA
1.What is it about ?
During 9 days, you will gradually discover this beautiful example of saintliness of the 20th century, the one John Paul II called « a saint of ordinary life ». Josemaria Escriva founded the Opus Dei and spread zealously the universal call to saintliness, among so many priests and laypeople.
Thsi way, you will follow the path to saintliness by his side.
2. Concretely ?
From the 18th to the 26th of June, you will receive :
DAY 1 to DAY 5 : aspects of saint Josemaria Escriva's life and excerpts of texts he wrote.
DAY 6 to DAY 9 : aspects initiating you to his spirituality and prayers he wrote.
On the 26th of June, the Church celebrates saint Josemaria Escriva's feast, the anniversary date of his death.
3. Where do these texts come from?
They are written (biography, spirituality) or selected (prayers) by François Gondrand.
They constitute the booklet on St. Josemaria Escriva (illustrated by Augustin Frison-Roche) edited by the association Connaissance des Saints de Notre Temps ; booklet available in French for free on its website : http://saints-de-notre-temps.fr
4. The association Connaissances des Saints de Notre Temps
It was created under the 1901 French law, and its aim is to spread awareness on contemporary saints (ordained, consecrated or lay) in order to help the largest number of good-willed persons to grow into saintliness , taught by these saints and blessed. The fact that they are close to us temporaly makes their example all the more touching and stimulating.
Made of voluntaries, the association has edited as of today 14 booklets (printed in 3000 to 15000 exemplaries.) Lately, some booklets were consecrated to Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, Blessed Chiara Luce and Saint Edith Stein.

The community prayer
Prayer by saint JM Escriva (taken from Forge) It is with joy, Lord, that we found ourselves in your wounded hand. Hold us tight ! Squeeze us, make us abandon all our earthly misery ! Make us purify ourselves, inflame ourselves, be soaked with your Blood ! And then trow us far, very far, with the desire to harvest, to collect, for the love of You, sowings more and more fruitful.
