With the simplicity of a child, Saint Thérèse was able to develop a theology of holiness, a path of encounter with God: the well-known Little Way.

Prayer of the Little Way

Saint of the Roses, you walked the Little Way of humility and submission to God's will. Teach us, O Holy Teacher, Doctor of the Church, the path to holiness that springs from listening to the Word of God and from doing simple things that are of little importance in the eyes of the world. We ask you to continue fulfilling your promise to shower the world with roses of graces and blessings. We long for roses—many roses from your garden. Share with us the graces you receive from God the Father. Intercede for us before Him. Through your prayers, may the Lord come to our aid in our needs. (Ask for the desired grace at this moment) Watch over our families, O Flower of Carmel: may there be peace, understanding, and dialogue in our homes. Watch over our homelands, so that we may have leaders of integrity, attuned to the longings of the suffering people. Watch over us, so that the missionary spirit may permeate all our actions. Saint Thérèse, pray for us. Amen.
