Waiting Bravely for Life: Prepare for Pentecost Retreat

Pentecost invites us to wait bravely and receive the same Spirit that turned fear into faith, calling us to live fully alive today.

Pentecost was the moment the Church was born.

Filled with God's Life and Love, the first followers of Jesus who were filled with fear walked out in faith and lived fully alive. This is not just history, this is your story and it is offered to you and me at Pentecost in a powerful way.

Join us for the 'Waiting Bravely for Life Retreat' as we prepare to receive the same Holy Spirit. Waiting can be hard, but God never meant it to be meaningless. When we wait, our hearts are widened to receive more. Let's join together and pray like the first followers and walk forward bravely.

The Program

Each day we will pray with a verse from the 9th-century hymn written by St. Maurus ‘Veni, Creator Spiritus' and ask for each of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We will hear a reflection from Sr. Mary's Grace about how this gift and grace can impact our lives today and hear stories about God's mighty work in lives today.

We will conclude with a prayer from our hearts and also from St. Elena's Holy Spirit Chaplet.

The Sisters of Life

Sr. Mary Grace is a Sisters of Life.

They are a religious community of women founded in 1991 by John Cardinal O'Connor who take a fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life.

Immersed in Eucharistic prayer within a vibrant community life, their missions include caring for vulnerable pregnant women and their unborn children; inviting those wounded by abortion into the healing mercy of Jesus; fostering a Culture of Life through evangelization; retreat works; spiritual accompaniment of college students; and upholding the beauty of marriage and family life. Novena prayer

Prayer from St. Elena's Holy Spirit Chaplet

“Father, in the Name of Jesus, send forth your Spirit and renew the world.” “O Mary, who by the work of the Holy Spirit, conceived the Savior, pray for us.” “Pentecost is a permanent mystery” - Jesus, I surrender to you. You may permit Pentecost to proceed in me and grant me new life. Amen
