Words of Jesus, a link of grace

"But the time will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then, on that day, they will fast." (Mark, 2:20)

Passage from the “Book of Heaven” by Luisa Piccarreta, the Little Daughter of the Divine Will 24 November 1903

Continuing in my usual state (outside my body), I saw blessed Jesus in my interior for just a little; and as if He wanted to continue removing doubts from me, He told me: “Daughter, I am the truth itself, and falsehood can never come from Me. At the most, it is something that man does not comprehend; and I do this to show that if one does not comprehend His word well, how can he comprehend the Creator in everything?

However, the soul must correspond by putting my word into practice. In fact, my words are many links of grace that come out of Me, and are given to the creature as gift. If she corresponds, she connects these links to the others which she has already acquired; but if she does not, she sends them back to her Creator.

Not only this, but I speak only when I see that the creature has the capacity to receive that gift, and corresponding to Me, she acquires not only many links of grace, but also many links of divine wisdom; and if I see them linked with correspondence, she disposes Me to give her yet more gifts. But if I see that my gifts are sent back, I withdraw, keeping silent.”

Let us pray

Dearly beloved of God, hello,

A number of brothers and sisters have assured me in confidence: they will pray and partake in Eucharistic Communion in loving union with those of us who cannot receive this gift at the moment. So, let us lovingly unite ourselves with them during our Spiritual Communion with Jesus, the ardent Love who thirsts for souls.

Lord, in our fasting of Eucharistic Bread, open our hearts to receive this great gift that you give us: deepening our desire to receive you with love. You know us Lord, we can be stubborn, we find it hard to listen. But Lord, give us the Light to understand how much this time is a special time to open ourselves to Your Kingdom. Carve in us an emptiness where we can receive You, and receive your Love. That is why, with all our heart, we say: (see the community prayer)

Community prayer

Act of Spiritual Communion (by Mgr Raymond Centène)

Lord Jesus, I firmly believe that You are present in the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist. I love You more than anything and I desire You with all my soul. “My body longs for you, like a dry, weary land without water.” (Psalm 62) I want to receive You today with all the love of the Virgin Mary, with the joy and the fervor of the Saints. Since I am prevented from receiving You sacramentally, come at least spiritually to visit my soul. In this time of absence, may this Eucharistic fast to which I am subjected bring me in communion with Your sufferings, especially with the feeling of abandon that You felt on the Cross when You cried out: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” May this sacramental fast bring me in communion with the sentiments of Your Most Holy Mother and of St Joseph when they lost You in the temple of Jerusalem; with the sentiments of Your Holy Mother when she received You, lifeless, at the foot of the Cross. May this Eucharistic fast bring me in communion with the suffering of Your mystical Body, the Church, throughout the world where persecution, or the absence of priests, are obstacles to sacramental life. May this Eucharistic fast bring me to understand that the Eucharist is an over-abundant gift of Your love and not a given for my spiritual comfort. May this Eucharistic fast be a reparation for all the times when I received you with a heart that was badly prepared, cold, indifferent, without love nor thanksgiving. May this Eucharistic fast ever increase my hunger to receive You truly and substantially in Your body, Your blood, Your soul and Your divinity when the circumstances will allow me. And until then, Lord Jesus, come to visit us spiritually through Your grace to strengthen us in our trials. Maranatha, come Lord Jesus.

Thank you! 111 people prayed
