Day 15: A Program for Holiness (part 2)

Main post image

(The second part of Pope Francis' Homily introduced yesterday)

Again, according to Pope Francis, Jesus has another answer to the question “How to become a good Christian?” in Matthew 25:

I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.”

The Holy Father concludes: by following the teachings of the Beatitudes and Matthew 25, we can all “pursue the holy Christian life”. It is a program for holiness “so simple, yet so difficult” – on which every Christian will be judged.

A question to ask yourself:

We recommend that you reflect today on Matthew 25 and ask Jesus to help you see His face in the face of all the people in need. “The needy ones” are not just homeless people. This notion also encompasses a classmate you never pay much attention to, a lonely family member who suffers in silence, a girl no one really talks to because she seems a bit “different” …

Community prayer

A prayer of Mother Theresa

Help me to spread Thy fragrance everywhere I go. Flood my soul with Thy spirit and love. Penetrate and possess my whole Return to being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of Thine. Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Thy presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus. Stay with me and then I shall begin to shine as you shine, so to shine as to be a light to others.

Thank you! 66 people prayed

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
