Day 6 - Trust God

Main post image
I know everything about you. Even the hairs of your head I have counted. Nothing in your life is unimportant to Me. [...] I love you for you, for the beauty and the dignity My Father gave you by creating you in His own image - Mother Teresa, in "I thirst for You" poem.

Throughout her life-long mission, Mother Teresa emphasizes three concepts: joy,  total surrender to Christ, and love-trust.

Mark 4, 35-41

On that day, as evening drew on, he said to them, "Let us cross to the other side." Leaving the crows, they took him with them in the boat just as he was. And other boats were with him. A violent squall came up and waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was already filling up. Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a cushion. They woke him and said to him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?" He woke up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Quiet! Be still!" The wind ceased and there was great calm. Then he asked them, "Why are you terrified? Do you not yet have faith?" They were filled with great awe and said to one another, "Who then is this whom even wind and sea obey?"

Today, the Lord asks us to trust him fully, a carefree, childlike trust. The apostles often acted without understanding the meaning of Jesus' requests. Often, they worked in fear. They faced thousands of obstacles and difficulties, but their trust in the Lord was so complete that they didn't need to comprehend, they just needed to love.

Prayer

Jesus, help me confide in you fully during this new upcoming year. Help me surrender to you with all my heart, all my being. Lord Jesus, son of the Living God, I trust in you.

Follow this prayer by one "Our Father," one "Hail Mary," and the daily prayer of Mother Teresa, which can be accessed by clicking on "Pray" below.

Today's little resolution: I will stop three times throughout my day and say from the bottom of my heart the following sentence: "Lord Jesus, son of the Living God, I trust in you."

Community prayer

Dear Lord, I kneel before you, by Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Dear Lord, the Great Healer, I kneel before you, Since every perfect gift must come from You. I pray, give skill to my hands, clear vision to my mind, Kindness, and meekness to my heart. Give me singleness of purpose, Strength to lift up a part of the burden of my suffering fellow men, And a true realization of the privilege that is mine. Take from my heart all guile and worldliness, That with the simple faith of a child, I may rely on You. Amen.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
