Holy Family Exiled in a Foreign Land, Pray for Us!
The Word of God:
"Joseph got up, took the little child and his mother by night, and withdrew to Egypt. "Matthew 2:14
Meditation :
The episode of the flight to Egypt shows how much Jesus, from the beginning of his life on earth, was delivered into the hands of men: protected by his parents who watched over him but already threatened by those who wanted him to die.
Jesus is fully human. He knows the interdependencies between members of the same family, such as the joy and demands of living together every day. The gospels say nothing about the daily life of the Holy Family, except that it was faithful to the prescriptions of the Law.
May the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus make our hearts sweet and humble like his.
Help us to fulfil our family vocation in a holy way.
May we love each other as God loves each other more and more each day, and forgive each other our faults as you forgive us our sins.
Help us, most loving Father, to take all that you give us and give all that you take from us with a broad smile.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, cause of our joy, pray for us.
Holy guardian angels, always be with us, guide us, protect us. Amen.
