Prayer to the Archangels
Among the angels—those heavenly creatures who make up the divine army of Good—are the archangels. These three angels—Saint Michael, Saint Gabriel, and Saint Raphael—have played very specific roles in the Bible and in the lives of humankind. As fighters against evil, healers, and messengers of God, they serve as a constant link between us and heaven. We can ask them for their guidance and protection and entrust our prayers to them so that they may present them before God. They are celebrated on September 29, the feast day of Saint Michael.

“Glorious Saint Michael, prince of the heavenly host, protector of the universal Church, defend us against all our visible and invisible enemies, and never let us fall under their cruel tyranny.
Saint Raphael, compassionate guide of travelers, you who, by divine power, perform miraculous healings, deign to guide us on the pilgrimage of this life, and heal the infirmities of our souls and those of our bodies.
Saint Gabriel, you who are rightly called the strength of God, since you were chosen to announce to Mary the Mystery in which the Almighty displayed the strength of His arm, make known to us the treasures contained in the person of the Son of God, and be our protector before His august Mother.”
