Do you want to create a beautiful prayer community, share it on the internet, and encourage the people around you to pray?

Here are a few tips to create a powerful prayer community:

  • Have a detailed, engaging description of your community
  • Invite your friends and acquaintances
  • Publish content regularly
  • Manage your community actively

1) Have a detailed, engaging description of your community:

So here you are, about to create a community on Hozana, on a topic you think is important. The purpose of the description is to show the importance of the topic you chose so that people would want to join you in prayer. The description may also show your involvement and give confidence to the people who will join your community.

  • Be specific and precise when describing your community
  • Explain why it is important to pray for your intention.
  • Take care of the presentation: use pictures, videos, and structure your text.

2) Invite your friends and acquaintances to pray with you:

Keyword: INVOLVEMENT

Once you have created your prayer community, begin to gather members. It is not enough to create a community and expect people to show up and register. Experience shows that a very large part of the prayers of a Hozana community has been invited directly by the creator of the Community. For example, in order for a total of 20 prayers to join your community, it will first be necessary that at least 10 to 15 people whom you have invited directly join your community.

Start with your closest acquaintances, go through your address book! Family, close friends, members of your community /parish /chaplaincy…

  • Send 5 to 10 personal emails to your family and friends.
For your close contacts, it is best to send them an individual email and to ask very simply to come and pray with you in the community. You will be surprised to realize the degree of influence you have on your friends and relatives!
Propose to 3 friends to be ambassadors by asking them to invite 3 other people each. Talk about it with them, on the phone or in person.
  • Ask three of your friends to become ambassadors, so that each of them could invite three more friends. Talk to them about it, either by phone or in person.
  • Send a group email. Group emails may reach many people but are less efficient. For instance, if you send an email to 50 contacts, you may expect 2 to 10 responses.
  • Share on social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, with a clear link and a few words inviting and encouraging people to join you in prayer.

If your prayer intention is personal, and/or you have no one who could pray with you, don't worry! Prayer is not a question of quantity and the Lord listens carefully to everyone’s prayer in all its uniqueness.

3) Publish content regularly:

And now, there are several persons who signed up to join your community. It is your job to feed their prayer and spirituality. Your community members will receive your posts/publications in their prayer space or in their inbox. They are eager to receive new content!

You may choose to publish in your community every day, or less often, but keep it regular. Your subscribers will expect quality content, in both style and substance. Remember, take care of the content of your publications.

If your community is based on current events, be reactive and promptly inform your subscribers of any relevant development. Likewise, if your community is built on a more private subject, keep your subscribers updated. Do not hesitate to keep your community informed and invite them to renew their prayers in a special way, etc.

4) Manage your community actively:

Gather together a team to help you manage your community. You may ask your friends to become a community moderator or to manage the community.

You may send a private message to each person who joined your community. Be friendly and personal, thank them for their prayers, encourage them in perseverance and ask them to invite their friends.

Take the time to respond to the comments left by the members. Initiate and engage in conversation. Nothing better than a lively community!
