Catalina Rivas: Visions and Revelations
Catalina Rivas is a laywoman, married, living in Bolivia. Around the age of 47, she received an exceptional mission from the Lord. Christ made her His secretary, giving her numerous messages which she writes by dictation. She also receives visions and revelations that she is charged with transmitting to all, notably revelations concerning the Holy Mass which are illuminating.
Who is Catalina Rivas?
Catalina Rivas is a Bolivian mystic. She lives in Cochabamba (Bolivia) with her husband. In October 1993, she converted at the age of 47. Shortly after, she begins to hear Jesus in interior locution; He gives her messages of love and mercy. In October 1994, Catalina is on pilgrimage in the United States, where she will live an extraordinary spiritual experience. She sees a sudden and very bright light around the crucifix and feels the need to offer her life to the Lord. She then sees luminous rays coming from the hands, feet, and heart of the crucified Jesus and penetrating her own hands, feet, and heart like lightning. Immediately, she feels such pain that she falls to the ground. Since then, she bears the stigmata of Christ which appear every Thursday evening, manifest painfully on Friday, and disappear on Saturday.
Catalina writes by dictation the many messages entrusted to her by the Lord. She thus fills many notebooks in a very short time. Experts are struck by the beauty, spiritual depth, and theological validity of the messages, all the more surprising as Catalina left school early and has no training in theology. The messages dictated by Jesus to Catalina have been compiled into 8 books entitled "The Great Crusade of Love". Catalina has also benefited from visions, for example during the Eucharist.
Recognition by the Catholic Church
On April 2, 1998, the writings of Catalina Rivas received the Imprimatur of the Archbishop of Cochabamba, Mons. in Bolivia. Here is what he says: "We have read the books of Catalina and we are sure that their sole object is to lead on the path of an authentic spirituality, whose source is the Gospel of Christ […] For this, I authorize their printing and dissemination, recommending them as aids for meditation."
Visions of Catalina During the Holy Mass
One day, when Catalina arrives at the last moment for Mass, the Virgin Mary asks her to be very attentive to everything that will happen so that she can then transmit her experience to the world. Catalina then attends Mass in an exceptional way where all the supernatural that takes place invisibly becomes visible to her. She also has interior locutions from the Holy Virgin bringing her explanations about what she sees unfolding before her eyes. Here, in the order of the liturgical ceremony, are several excerpts from the messages of Our Lady.
"You should have arrived earlier to be able to pray and ask the Lord to send His Holy Spirit so that He grants you a spirit of peace and purifies you from the spirit of the world, your worries, your problems and your distractions in order to allow you to live this so sacred moment."
Penitential Rite
"From the depths of your heart ask the Lord to forgive your faults which have offended Him. In this way, you will be able to worthily participate in the privilege of attending Holy Mass".
Glory to God
"Glorify and bless with all your love the Most Holy Trinity by recognizing that you are one of its creatures."
Liturgy of the Word
"I want you to pay attention to the Readings and to the entire homily of the priest. Remember that the Bible says that the Word of God does not return without having borne fruit." "Now tell the Lord that you are here to listen, that you want Him to speak to your heart today."
Offertory
"This is the moment when your Guardian Angels carry your offerings and your supplications before the Altar of the Lord."
"Offer yourself at this moment... offer your sorrows, your pains, your hopes, your sadnesses, your joys, your supplications. Remember that the Mass has infinite value. So be generous in offerings and requests."
Consecration
"Now, you see that I am always here. People go on pilgrimage, seeking places where I have appeared. This is good because of all the graces they receive there. But in no apparition, in no other place, am I as present as during the Holy Mass."
"Do not lower your eyes. Look to see Him and contemplate Him. Exchange your gaze with His and repeat the Prayer of Fátima: My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You. I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You."
"At the moment of consecration, the entire assembly is transported to the foot of Calvary, to the instant of Jesus' crucifixion".
Our Father
Here it is the Lord who speaks for the first time during the celebration: "Wait! I want you to pray with the greatest depth you can feel. At this moment, recall the person or persons who have wronged you the most in your life so that you can embrace them, taking them onto your heart and that you tell them with all your heart: 'In the Name of Jesus, I forgive you and I wish you peace. In the name of Jesus, I ask your forgiveness and wish my peace.'"
Communion
"Here comes the time when we must pray for the celebrant and for the priests who accompany him. Repeat after Me: Lord, bless them, sanctify them, help them, purify them, love them, take care of them and support them with your Love. Remember all the priests of the world, pray for all consecrated souls."
All these messages are taken from the small work: Visions of Catalina During the Holy Mass, you can find the entirety of Catalina's experience as well as all the messages there. An animated film adapted for both children and adults has also been made by Saje distribution faithfully transcribing Catalina's experience, it is titled The Great Miracle.
Other Revelations and Messages from Jesus
"In your homes, you have a place for everything and a room for every activity: a bedroom for sleeping, another for the kitchen, another for eating, etc. What place have you prepared for Me? It should not be a place where you have only placed an image that always gathers dust, but a place where at least five minutes a day, the family meets to give thanks for the day and for the gift of life, to ask for the needs of the day, to ask for blessings, protection, health."
"How many families will say at least once a month: 'Today is our day to go visit Jesus in the Tabernacle', and the whole family comes to talk to Me? How many come to sit before Me and have a conversation with Me, telling Me how it has been since their last visit, telling Me their problems, the difficulties they have, asking Me for what they need... letting Me participate in all these things? How many times? I know everything. I even read the deepest secrets of your hearts and your thoughts. Yet, it gives Me great pleasure to hear you tell Me about your life, letting Me participate like a member of the family, like your most intimate friend. Oh how many graces man loses by not giving Me a place in his life!"
