Our Lady of Fatima Novena
Over the next 9 days, entrust your petitions to Our Lady of Fatima. You will receive daily a prayer and a short reflection on the Mother of God.
NB: We suggest that you choose to start this novena on the 4th of May, as 9 days later is the feast of Our Lady of Fatima (13th of May).
Novena to Our Lady of Fatima
The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children in 1917 in Fatima, Portugal, on the 13th day of the month from May to October. The final apparition on October 13th concluded with the spectacular "Miracle of the Sun" and was witnessed by over 70,000 people.
Before St. Jacinta was taken to the hospital, she told her cousin:
“You will remain here to make known that God wishes to establish in the world devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary…Tell everybody that God grants us graces through the Immaculate Heart of Mary; that people are to ask her for them; and that the Heart of Jesus wants the Immaculate Heart of Mary to be venerated at His side. Tell them also to pray to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for peace since God has entrusted it to her.”
She told the children to say the Rosary every day to bring peace to the world and the end of war. This is why Our Lady of Fatima is also called Our Lady of the Rosary. She also requested us to pray the following prayer at the end of each mystery or decade of the Rosary: “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen.” Later, Our Lady entrusted the children with three secrets.
