Michael Archangel, of the King of Kings, give ear to our voices.
We acknowledge you to be the Prince of the citizens of heaven, and at your prayer, God sends His angels, that the enemy, with cunning craft, shall not prevail to do the hurt he craves to weary men.
Yea, you have the dominion of perpetual Paradise, and ever do holy angels honor You.
You were seen in the temple of God with a censer gold in your hands, and the smoke of it
fragrant with spices rose up till it came before God, You did smite the cruel dragon,
and many, many souls did you rescue from his jaws. Then was there a great silence in
Heaven, and a thousand saying, “Glory to the Lord King.”
Michael, hear us, come down a little from your high seat, bring us the strength of God
and the lightning of His mercy.
You, O Gabriel, put down our foes, and you, O Raphael, heal our sick, ease our pain, Michael, hear us, greatest angel. Michael, hear us, come down a little from your high seat, and give us to share the joys of the blessed.

Meditation

God knows His creation. Angels see what God shows them: they see His Plan, and they take action to help its fulfillment. 

Humans too were made aware of God and of His work. Yet, they are quick to do things their own way...  they are prone to walk certain paths, to make certain plans, to design their own little world.

Have you noticed how much humans are inclined to appropriate for themselves the things they are given, and the perspectives that are opened to them?

We often seem to think that power corrupts. But corrupted hearts unveil their deeds with as much strength as the highest of powers!

In contrast, humble and merciful beings fear neither truth, nor justice. On the contrary, they strive to gain both: "But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God" says John (3:21).

For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose         - Philippians 2:13
