Novena Day 4

Scripture Passage:

Now as they went on their way, he entered a village; and a woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving; and she went to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me." But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; one thing is needful. Mary has chosen the good portion, which shall not be taken away from her." (Luke 10:38-42)

Reflection:

Oh Saint Mary Magdalene we are anxious and troubled about so many things. We live in fear, our hearts so filled with worry that can we lose sight of the reason for our existence: to love and serve God in this life so as to be happy with Him for all eternity. When we come to the end of our lives we will see that the one thing that really mattered was how we have loved our God. Pray that we will come to realise this truth before it is too late.

To you now I entrust this intention which is so dear to my heart. (Mention the intention...) Grant me the favour of seeing that this request that I make of the Most High through you has been answered, so that I too, like you, may sing of His merciful love forever. Amen

Prayer:

In communion with you, the Apostle to the Apostles, I now pray:

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father.

The Novena concludes with the Litany of Saint Mary Magdalene:
