A sepulcher and its lid, for the soul

Jesus, rest your gaze upon me, prepare my soul to receive the kiss of your union, cleanse me. May we live this prayer together, united in every way, in body, in soul, in love and in free will. May this encounter between love created and Love uncreated be a source of Life for all. In this way, hidden in your Love, all the created dissolves in the ardent fire of Love uncreated. Amen. FIAT.

"The LORD will give what is good" (Ps 85:12)

Passage from “Book of Heaven” by Luisa Piccarreta, the Little Daughter of the Divine Will – 4 July 1912 – A sepulcher and its lid for the soul

In the Divine Will the soul must die to everything, like in a tomb, closed by love, in order to rise again to a divine life. By thinking about herself, the soul escapes from the divine life.

This morning, after Communion, I was saying to my always adorable Jesus: ‘To what a state I reduced myself! It seems that everything runs away from me: suffering, virtues – everything!

And Jesus: ‘My daughter, what's this? Do you want to waste time? Do you want to get out of your nothingness? Stay in your place – in your nothingness – so that the All may keep Its place in you. But know that you must die completely in my Will: to the suffering, to the virtues – to everything. My Will must be the tomb of the soul. Just as nature is consumed in the tomb to the extent of disappearing completely, and by that consummation it will rise again to a new and more beautiful Life, in the same way the soul, buried in my Will as if inside a tomb, will die to the suffering, to her virtues, to her spiritual goods, and will rise again in everything to Divine Life.

Ah, my daughter, it seems that you want to imitate the mundane, who tend to what is temporal, and ends, while they don't consider what is eternal. My beloved, why don't you want to learn to live only in my Volition? Why don't you want to live in the life of Heaven while still being on earth? My Will is Love, the One that never dies; therefore my Will must be your sepulcher, and Love is the lid which has to lock you and seal you in, giving you no more hope of getting out.

Then, every thought that regards oneself, even about virtues, is always gain for oneself and runs away from the Divine Life; while if the soul thinks only about Me and what regards Me, she takes the Divine Life in herself and, taking the Divine Life, she escapes the human life, taking all possible goods. Have we understood each other?”

Let us pray

Lord, You know our failings. We seek to commune in Your Life – teach us, take us by the hand, lead us to follow Your Way. May Your Will keep us firmly inside It so that all that we see is your Will, out of love for You.

Testimony

I invite you to read this testimony that Coline shares with us… it can also be found on the community's description page.

Hearing about Jesus' action in the life of our sisters or brothers always helps us to deepen our life in the Holy Trinity. I hope that each of us can be touched by the Lord. If one of us is touched by the action of the Lord, even in the simple little things of our ordinary lives, sharing it as a testimony can touch other people. Let us bear witness to the Love of the Lord.

Hello Sophie [NB: author of this community]!

A massive thank you for the community that you run on the eucharistic fast; it is partly thanks to this retreat that this self-isolation is not only to me a time of waiting for the end of self-isolation but truly a chance to deepen my relationship with Jesus and to take him as a friend. A thousand times thank you for this retreat to which Providence made me sign up and which allows me to learn more about the Eucharist, since even before the self-isolation I felt that I should have a much greater desire for Jesus in my little student life! Be blessed; may the Holy Spirit embrace you so that you may live in the Divine Will.

Act of Spiritual Communion (by Mgr Raymond Centène)

Lord Jesus, I firmly believe that You are present in the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist. I love You more than anything and I desire You with all my soul. “My body longs for you, like a dry, weary land without water.” (Psalm 62) I want to receive You today with all the love of the Virgin Mary, with the joy and the fervor of the Saints. Since I am prevented from receiving You sacramentally, come at least spiritually to visit my soul. In this time of absence, may this Eucharistic fast to which I am subjected bring me in communion with Your sufferings, especially with the feeling of abandon that You felt on the Cross when You cried out: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” May this sacramental fast bring me in communion with the sentiments of Your Most Holy Mother and of St Joseph when they lost You in the temple of Jerusalem; with the sentiments of Your Holy Mother when she received You, lifeless, at the foot of the Cross. May this Eucharistic fast bring me in communion with the suffering of Your mystical Body, the Church, throughout the world where persecution, or the absence of priests, are obstacles to sacramental life. May this Eucharistic fast bring me to understand that the Eucharist is an over-abundant gift of Your love and not a given for my spiritual comfort. May this Eucharistic fast be a reparation for all the times when I received you with a heart that was badly prepared, cold, indifferent, without love nor thanksgiving. May this Eucharistic fast ever increase my hunger to receive You truly and substantially in Your body, Your blood, Your soul and Your divinity when the circumstances will allow me. And until then, Lord Jesus, come to visit us spiritually through Your grace to strengthen us in our trials. Maranatha, come Lord Jesus.

Thank you! 53 people prayed
