How to be consumed in Love...

"Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." (1Co, 13:4-8)

Passage from the “Book of Heaven” by Luisa Piccarreta, the Little Daughter of the Divine Will – 9 May 1912

Consummation of all our being in Love.

This morning, finding myself in my usual state (outside my body), I was thinking about how we can consume ourselves in Love. My blessed Jesus came and told me:

“My daughter,
if the will wants only Me,
if the intelligence is interested in knowing only Me,
if the memory remembers nothing other than Me;
here they are – the three powers of the soul being consumed in Love.

The same for the senses:
if one speaks only about Me,
if he hears only all that regards Me,
if he enjoys only my things,
if he works and walks only for Me,
if his heart loves only Me,
if his desires desire only Me;
here it is – the consummation of Love formed by the senses.

My daughter, love has a sweet enchantment, and it renders the soul happy and blind to all that is not love, making her all eyes for all that is love. Therefore, for the one who loves, whatever her will may encounter,
if it is love she becomes all eyes;
if not, she becomes blind, stupid and does not understand anything.
The same for her tongue;
if she has to speak about love, she feels many eyes of light flowing through her word and becomes eloquent;
if not, she begins to stammer and ends up dumb.
So for all the rest.”

Let us pray

Jesus, my will is awfully rebellious when it reads this! I tell myself: yes but how can I get there? Fortunately You are here, so I abandon myself into Your arms. Keep my will nicely locked within You, in your Divine Heart and come to my aid to have me live the way You ask me to… Because I want Love, I want to live lovingly, but I am so far from there and in so much need… So with my sisters and brothers, in these times when we are physically deprived of the gift of your Love, we say: (the community prayer, by clicking “Pray”)

Act of Spiritual Communion (by Mgr Raymond Centène)

Lord Jesus, I firmly believe that You are present in the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist. I love You more than anything and I desire You with all my soul. “My body longs for you, like a dry, weary land without water.” (Psalm 62) I want to receive You today with all the love of the Virgin Mary, with the joy and the fervor of the Saints. Since I am prevented from receiving You sacramentally, come at least spiritually to visit my soul. In this time of absence, may this Eucharistic fast to which I am subjected bring me in communion with Your sufferings, especially with the feeling of abandon that You felt on the Cross when You cried out: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” May this sacramental fast bring me in communion with the sentiments of Your Most Holy Mother and of St Joseph when they lost You in the temple of Jerusalem; with the sentiments of Your Holy Mother when she received You, lifeless, at the foot of the Cross. May this Eucharistic fast bring me in communion with the suffering of Your mystical Body, the Church, throughout the world where persecution, or the absence of priests, are obstacles to sacramental life. May this Eucharistic fast bring me to understand that the Eucharist is an over-abundant gift of Your love and not a given for my spiritual comfort. May this Eucharistic fast be a reparation for all the times when I received you with a heart that was badly prepared, cold, indifferent, without love nor thanksgiving. May this Eucharistic fast ever increase my hunger to receive You truly and substantially in Your body, Your blood, Your soul and Your divinity when the circumstances will allow me. And until then, Lord Jesus, come to visit us spiritually through Your grace to strengthen us in our trials. Maranatha, come Lord Jesus.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
