Praying for those affected by Coronavirus

James 5:15, ”And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”

At this turbulent time, we turn in prayer to ask the Lord to give us His peace, comfort, and protection. We ask for blessing upon all those who are working in healthcare across the world and their families. Heavenly Father, please be with those who have been affected and for the grieving families of those who have already lost their lives.

We abandon everything at the threat of disease - we cancel plans, employ extra protection, and encourage our loved ones to do the same. We avoid places where the virus might spread. May this serve as a reminder of our spiritual health, too. To be vigilant and proactive for spiritual health, to avoid sin and spiritual sickness. Let it also remind us to be kind, despite the fear, and let it not be a cause for spiritual sickness in pursuit of physical health. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, but lose his soul?" -Mark 8:36”

Catholic Voices Prayer

God our Father, Bless and guide all those involved in Catholic Voices. Give us the gifts of the Holy Spirit that we need for this work, especially wisdom, gentleness, courage and joy. Help us to be faithful to Christ and to his Church, and to be open to the questions that people bring us. Help us to love and respect all those we meet. Support us in our difficulties and setbacks. May our words and the witness of our lives give you glory and help others to be more open to you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
