Endless Time

 Genesis 2:7, 6:3

..then the Lord God formed the man out of the dust of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Then the Lord said: "My Spirit shall not remain in human beings forever, because they are only flesh. Their days shall comprise one hundred and twenty years.”

Meditation

Man became a “living being” because God blew “the breath of life” into his nostrils. The Spirit is source for new life. All living creatures are considered alive because they breathe. When you stop breathing, life has been taken away from you. God also makes it clear that one's life on Earth is limited in time. If something is limited it means there isn't much of it; eventually there won't be anymore. It will definitely come to an end. Today we speak of Earth's natural resources being limited and that we should all adopt new ways of taking care of ourselves as well as our planet! Pope Francis reminds us constantly that creation and life are precious gifts that should not be wasted. Time is also a gift not to be wasted.

Meet the Challenge

How many times have you regretted and heard yourself say “I should have called. I should have visited. I wished I hadn't spent all that time on my phone” etc…This week use your time wisely to think about how you spend your time. Ask yourself where you need to make changes. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and show you what changes need to be made. Lent is the perfect time to make changes that will help you become the person that you were created to be. Take that time to become that person. It is the most precious gift that you can give yourself as well as others and most importantly offer in thanks to God.

Let's Pray

Jesus, help me to live in the present and in your constant presence. May my "prayer time" with you come first in my hectic day to day life. Help me to live according to your time and not mine.  I thank you for every waking moment that you have given me here on this Earth. Give me the grace to know that you are there in the good times and the bad. Amen.

Let's Praise Him

Come, Now it the Time to Worship

Community prayer

Breathe into me Holy Spirit

Breathe into me, Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Move in me, Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Attract my heart, Holy Spirit, that I may love only what is holy. Strengthen me, Holy Spirit, that I may defend all that is holy. Protect me, Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy. (Saint Augustine)

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
