Day 1 - Saint Peregrine Novena

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

Put yourself in the presence of the Lord Jesus,

Keep silent to let yourself be invaded by the presence of Jesus, Mary, and Saint Peregrine.

The Word of God

“Love one another, as I have loved you. " (John 13, 34)

Am I fully convinced of the Love of Jesus for me?

This conviction is holiness, manifested through offering your caring service to those around you, giving to them what you would be happy to give to the Lord.

Christ Jesus loves those to whom He can offer Himself more, those who hope a lot in Him, and who count on Him for everything. A simple smile, an encouraging word, a visit to a lonely person… there are so many manifestations of your love for Jesus.

With the Lord Jesus, may my life be a real experience and outpouring of the Love that He came to bring us on earth.

A Prayer to the Lord, with St. Peregrine:

"Lord Jesus, in Your great kindness You blessed Your servant Saint Peregrine with the grace to love his neighbour immensely ;

I implore You to grant me this same favor. Spread Your Love through me.

O Holy Virgin Mary, my Good Mother, give me your Son.

Amen.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father

Saint Peregrine, pray for me.

Saint Peregrine, pray for all those who suffer.

Saint Peregrine, you who suffered, grow in my heart (in the heart of N...) Faith, Hope and Peace.

Suggestion:

Make a small sacrifice, a resolution for this day.

If you think about it well, you will find lots of small resolutions to make "just for today". For example: you can go to Mass, visit the Blessed Sacrament, quit smoking or watching TV for a day, make a gesture of love towards a person in need of help, such as a phone call or a short prayer …

And many other things that will come to you during this day. Finally, be aware of the few minutes that you can offer, quite simply, with benevolence and respect to those who suffer.

Let us pray:

Lord Jesus, with confidence I begin this novena with You and Our Holy Virgin Mother Mary, to obtain, through the intercession of Saint Peregrine, the healing of (N…), who suffers from cancer.

Lord Jesus, protect me from this terrible disease, and above all keep me in Your Heart.

Prayer to Saint Peregrine

O Glorious Saint Peregrine, apostle of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows, you whose Faith was so great, that it got you everything you asked of God, you whose humility was so deep, that you accepted to be a priest only on the orders of your superiors, you whose patience was so perfect, that you ask Jesus Crucified to cure you of your cancer and to leave you suffering from it, by the ineffable joys that you taste now as a reward for your virtues and your submission to the Will of God , put in our hearts and souls these dispositions of Faith, humility and submission to divine goodwill so that we can obtain from the omnipotence of God. (Express the favors that one wishes to obtain….) To whom would we have recourse, if not to you who carried our infirmities in your flesh, you on whom Our Lord Himself bent over to heal you. The example of your life and your virtues will bring us near to Our Lady, who is our life, our sweetness and our hope, and thus we will obtain what we ask for. Through Jesus, Christ, our Lord. Amen.
