Let joy enter your life
“What a blissful peace we feel when joy permeates our suffering”.
(From Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity, Spiritual Writings).
“To allow joy to enter our experience of suffering” could be mistakenly interpreted as a form of masochism. It must be seen as an act of total surrender to our God, an act of ultimate trust in the Lord. Joy should not exclusively be experienced when all is well. Failure, disappointment, betrayal are certainly painful experiences, but we can draw lessons from them that will fortify our faith, and further our strength in life's struggles. Paul always invites us to be joyous, to pray without cease; he urges us to express our gratitude in every circumstance (1Th 5, 16-18). Such behavior will allow us to testify our trust and our love for our Lord.
“There is but one life
That which reflects love
There is but one love
That which reflects beauty
There is but one beauty
That which portrays grief
There is but one grief
That which leads to bliss
There is but one bliss
That which shines through suffering!”
