Saint Francis Xavier, a limitless missionary zest

Coming from Navarra, tenacious and indefatigable, his zest will take him to the end of the world ! From the Comores to Japan, he is one of the first to bring the Gospel to the Indian Ocean. In the midst of dominant Buddhism he will become the “Apostle of India”. Through his zeal and the numerous miracles he obtains he knows extraordinary success. He wants to go and preach in China but, being ill, he unfortunately dies in 1552 while waiting for the boat that should take him there. Canonised in 1622, he is, together with Saint Therese of Lisieux, the patron of missions.
