6th day: the joy of believing
Verse
“Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe” - Gospel according to John, 20:29
Meditation
This is the last beatitude of the Gospel. It is spoken to Thomas, the disciple who wanted to check the reality of the Jesus' resurrection by putting his finger in the holes that the nails made in Jesus' hands and feet on the cross, and by putting his hand into Jesus' side, pierced by the soldier's spear. Jesus presents himself to Thomas on the night of the eighth day after Easter... and Thomas recognises his Master, Thomas adores his God!
This disciple is each one of us. We want proof, but love is not proven, it is experienced... In the wounds of our heart, the failings of poor sinful lives, there is where we receive the breath of hope. The future is still possible, a path is still open, if you let yourself receive the one who knocks on your door. Give him you trust: “like a child quieted at its mother's breast, hope in the Lord from this time forth and for evermore” (Psalm 131 [130]).

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
