Prayer of Healing (extracts)

(Recited in Medjugorje, after the evening Mass, and elsewhere, according to the needs).

Jesus, You have come for the sick and the sinners. That is why I present myself to You and I want to ask You to heal me, in my soul and in my body. Jesus, You know that sin tears and wounds every human being, that it destroys relationships between men and with You. But in front of You, there is no sin, no sickness that You cannot drive away with Your powerful word. There is no wound that You cannot heal.

Mary, you have called me to pray for healing. I desire it now. I pray to you: may your faith support my prayer. Pray now with me that I may be worthy of deserving the graces for all those who are weak or sick, and for myself.

Come, Lord.

“Then he got into the boat followed by his disciples. Suddenly a storm broke over the lake, so violent that the boat was being swamped by the waves. But he was asleep. So they went to him and woke him saying, ‘Save us, Lord, we are lost!' And he said to them, ‘Why are you so frightened, you who have so little faith?' And then he stood up and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. They were astounded and said, ‘Whatever kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?'” (Mt 8: 23-27)

Jesus, You have known the agitation of the world, You have entered the boat of every life. You are present because Your name signifies Emmanuel: God with us, God for us. I pray to You now, come into my life, my boat is overturning. See my torments and my worries in my conscious and my subconscious. Penetrate, Jesus, the depths of my being. I am at the point of perishing. Stand up, calm my torments. Command the waves of death, that surround me, to cease their menace. Say a word to appease my heart so that I may hear you divine and creating word. 

Come, Jesus, into my family's boat and into the boat of the world. Let our cries awake You: stretch out Your hand to bring calmness. Come, Lord Jesus, come to where I am wounded…

Come, Jesus, come into the lives of all those who live in the constraints of bad habits: drugs, alcohol, bodily pleasures; help them to walk, Jesus, calm down their storms, may everyone hear Your peace-giving voice. 

Decisions:

Jesus, You are in the boat of my life. You are my God, I adore You and I glorify You; You alone are Holy, You alone are the Lord. I believe in You and trustingly, I place myself at Your disposition. I choose Your love and Your mercy. With You and your Mother, I say: I health and in sickness, I success and in failure, in joy and in sadness, in life and in death, in the present and in eternity, may Your will be done with me. 

Jesus, I have often been indecisive when I came to doing good; I have often preferred my own will to Yours and I have been deeply wounded because of it. Heal me from my unfaithfulness and from the resistance that I show when I do not understand the will of the Father. 

Mary, obtain for me the grace to keep my decision firm. Help me to remain faithful to my decision and to never turn back from it.

Prayer for the healing of the body

"That evening they brought him many who were possessed by devils. He drove out the spirits with a command and cured all who were sick. 17. This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: He himself bore our sicknesses away and carried our diseases." (Mt 8:16-17)

Jesus, heal my body. Here I am before You with my physical pains and the dangers that threaten my body. Heal me from the sicknesses that are ravaging my body. 

(Present your sicknesses)

Protect me from all sickness!

If it is Your will that I carry the cross of sickness, then I accept it and ask You for the grace to carry it with love. Jesus, I pray also for the healing of members of my family and relatives.

Jesus, I pray to You, if it is the Father's will that they suffer, to give them the grace to carry their cross with love. 

Heal all the sick across the world. Protect the world from epidemics and incurable illnesses. Jesus, in one word, heal all our sicknesses because You have come to carry them and to save us. 

Father in Heaven, thank You for having created me and having saved me through Your Son. Thank You for healing me now though Him in my soul and my body. May the blessing of peace, love, reconciliation and trust shine on me, on my family, on the Church and on the world. May Mary, our mother, obtain for us from you fatherly goodness all that we need for our soul and our body.
