Day 5 : Led by the Basics (part 1)

Our timetables are full of countless tasks, with varying degrees of urgency and importance. We keep moving from one activity to the next, and our eyes are focused on the present moment. If we don't take a step back, we won't manage to put our actual priorities on top of the priorities list. We run the risk of climbing up the ladder of social success, only to end up noticing a couple of years later that the ladder is not placed on the right wall.

No one on their death bed regrets not having spent more time in front of a TV screen or at the office. At that moment, your thoughts are filled with “the basics”: the only things that really matter are our nearest and dearest ones, God, and the good we have accomplished during our time on earth.

Questions to ask yourself:

To me, what really matters in my life?

What importance do I give to Love, Jesus Christ, and others?

What do I want to accomplish?

With God, in your prayer, take some time to make a mental image of what want your life to be, who you want to be, and what matters to you the most. Define clearly to yourself what should be at the core of your life. Afterwards, examine this week. Is your timetable in line with that mental picture?

Community prayer

A prayer of Mother Theresa

Help me to spread Thy fragrance everywhere I go. Flood my soul with Thy spirit and love. Penetrate and possess my whole Return to being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of Thine. Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Thy presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus. Stay with me and then I shall begin to shine as you shine, so to shine as to be a light to others.

Thank you! 88 people prayed

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
