Consecration of our future.

'Hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.' (Romans 5: 5)

Invocation to the Holy Spirit:

In the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Holy Spirit, unfailing source of joy and peace, You are the one who opens hearts and souls to the divine calling;

You are the one who renders effective every impulse towards good, truth, and charity.

Your ineffable moans rise up to the Father of the heart of the Church,

who suffers and struggles for the Gospel.

Open the heart and the soul of young men and women,

as to witness a new bloom of holy vocations and reveal the steadfastness of your love,

So that all mankind shall know Christ, true light who came to the world,

to offer each being the hope in eternal life. Amen.

St. John Paul II.

Psalm 90 (91):

You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High,/who abide in the shade of the Almighty,/Say to the Lord, "My refuge and fortress,/my God in whom I trust."/He will rescue you from the fowler's snare,/from the destroying plague,/He will shelter you with his pinions,/and under his wings, you may take refuge;/You shall not fear the terror of the night/nor the arrow that flies by day,/Nor the pestilence that roams in darkness,/nor the plague that ravages at noon./Though a thousand fall at your side/ten thousand at your right hand,/near you it shall not come./[...]No evil shall befall you,/no affliction come near your tent. For he commands his angels with regard to you,/to guard you wherever you go.

Reading: Matthew 6: 26-34

Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you more important than they? Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wildflowers grow. They do not work or spin. But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them. If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith? So do not worry and say, 'What are we to eat?' or 'What are we to drink?' or 'What are we to wear?' All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom (of God) and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.

Meditation:

Mary will share her faith with you. Her faith on earth was stronger than that of all the patriarchs, prophets, apostles and saints. […] It will cause you to depend less upon sensible and extraordinary feelings. For it is a lively faith animated by love, enabling you to do everything from no other motive than that of pure love. It is a firm faith, unshakable as a rock, prompting you to remain firm and steadfast in the midst of storms and tempest. It is an active and probing faith which like some mysterious pass-key admits you into the mysteries of Jesus-Christ […]. It is a courageous faith which inspires you to undertake and carry out without hesitation great things for God and the salvation of souls. Lastly, this faith will be your flaming torch, your very life with God, your secret fund of divine Wisdom, and an all-powerful weapon for you to enlighten those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death. It inflames those who are lukewarm and need the gold of fervent love. It restores life to those who are dead through sin. It moves and transforms hearts of marbles and cedars of Lebanon by gentle and convincing argument. Finally, this faith will strengthen you to resist the devil and the other enemies of salvation.

St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, Treatise on True Devotion, § 214.

Prayer of consecration:

I surrender to you, O mother of Providence, and I dedicate my future and all its events, to you.

Mother of hopefulness, may the power of your prayer protect me from wrong paths, from all angst and despair. May my heart be firmly anchored where real joy is found. May your Son be known and loved by all so that no one tries to control the future anymore. Mother of Peace, may you triumph and reign, in the Church and in the world. Be the star that guides us and comforts us and helps us persevere in righteousness.

Pray a chaplet decade.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, That never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, Implored your help, or sought your intercession, Was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, Despise not my petitions, But in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
