Consecration of the Present Day

Luke 19:9-10

'Today salvation has come to this house for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost.'

Invocation to the Holy Spirit:

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Come O Father of the poor, come, God of charity.

Shape within me my prayers, show me the verity,

Bring down to my soul an ember of Your fire

To kindle it and fill it with God's desire

Come O Holy Spirit, Maker of martyrs,

Of confessors, apostles, prophets, heroes and kind hearts,

My Savior followed only Your demeanor,

So that I may follow Him, lead me in like manner.

St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort.

Psalm 94 (95)

Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord;/cry out to the rock of our salvation./Let us come before him with a song of praise,/joyfully sing out our psalms./For the Lord is the great God,/the great king over all gods,/Whose hand holds the depths of the earth;/who owns the tops of the mountains./The sea and dry land belong to God,/who made them, formed them by hand./[...]Oh, that today you would hear his voice:/Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah,/as on the day of Massah in the desert./There your ancestors tested me;/they tried me though they have seen my works.

Reading: 2 Corinthians 6: 1-3

Working together, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For he says: "In an acceptable time I heard you, and on the day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now is a very acceptable time; now is the day of salvation.

Meditation:

God wishes therefore to reveal Mary, his masterpiece, and make her more known in these latter times:

Because she kept herself hidden in this world and in her great humility considered herself lower than dust […]

Because, as Mary is not only God's masterpiece of glory in heaven, but also his masterpiece of grace on earth, he wishes to be glorified and praised because of her by those living upon earth.

Sine she is the dawn which precedes and discloses the Sun of Justice Jesus Christ, she must be known and acknowledged so that Jesus may be known and acknowledged.

As she was the way by which Jesus first came to us, she will again be the way by which he sill come to us the second time, though not in the same manner. But no one can find Mary who does not look for her. No one can look for her who does not know her;[…]Mary then must be better known than ever for the deeper understanding and the greater glory of the Blessed Trinity.

- St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, Treatise in True Devotion, §50.

Prayer of consecration:

You lived your entire life, O Mary, fully available to God, to His Word, and to His Will.

O full of grace, I consecrate my life to you, in its actual state, so that the Holy Spirit may shadow my entire existence. Mother of Life, teach me how to receive from your Son the grace he bestows on me at every moment; to believe firmly that he is fulfilling all my needs.

O Mary, pray for us sinners, now. May I not sway anymore between past longings and future angst, but may my heart welcome today God's salvation.

Pray a chaplet decade:

- One Our Father.

- Ten Hail Mary.

- One Glory be.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, That never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, Implored your help, or sought your intercession, Was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, Despise not my petitions, But in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
