Poor in Spirit

The archangel Gabriel announced that Our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ would come from the womb of the Virgin Mary. In her womb He became flesh and part of our fragile humanity.

Meditation

He, the most High, the Almighty, wanted to become the body of man in the womb of a woman. Francis is in awe of such an event. Francis's faith demands that he believe in an event whose emotion goes beyond him. He looks at a naked baby, clothed in the veil of his mother without any other material comfort. His most High chose poverty.

Francis shakes with the desire to hold in his arms this fragile infant, he stammers when addressing Him, overwhelmed with joy and tenderness. He has tears in his eyes, as he imagines attending the childbirth with Joseph. What an amazing story. His name is Jesus. We know where and when he was born but at the same time, he was already born before being born, as did His Father, both created through the Holy Spirit.

Resolution for the Day

Francis' poverty is a chosen poverty. By depriving himself, Francis gives way to God. What about us? What are we going to leave aside today of our well filled lives? A TV series, social networks, video games, chatting, shopping...

A time for God is a time for oneself.

Prayer Intention

Lord, we pray for all those locked up and weakened by addiction. Let your Spirit make them attentive to the unexpected of God and others.

Prière de la communauté

Lord, Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
