Day Eight: Saint Charbel and the miracles
Every time Mr. Rachid Al-Khoury, prefect of Ehmej, fell ill, he would summon Father Charbel and ask him to pray for his recovery, for he believed in his holiness; so did the inhabitants of the locality, in case of illness and hardship: they would ask for the hermit's prayers.
Usually, when someone from Ehmej fell ill, his or her relatives would rush to Father Charbel and receive Holy Water from him. Holy
Water, along with the hermit's prayers, would cure anyone from disease and misery.
His ministry to the sick didn't end with his death in 1898. Since then, thousands of miracles, cures, blessings, and wonders have been performed by Father Charbel in Lebanon and throughout the whole world to people that are sick, disabled, mentally ill and dying, from various countries, religions, and backgrounds, for love knows no boundaries.
Saint Charbel, we entrust to your care our loved ones and those of our volunteers who are weakened by illness. Heal their bodies, heal their souls. In Jesus' name, Amen.
