Day three: let us pray for mothers reluctant to keep their child
Sometimes, pregnancy comes along with a not-so-welcome package of great pain, shame, humiliation, uncertainty, and fear.
A woman in this situation may be tempted to put a term to the life within her, in a desperate attempt to avoid that same pain, shame, humiliation, uncertainty, and fear.
Today, let us offer our prayers to St. Gerard, patron saint of expecting mothers and unborn children, and ask for his intercession, that God may grant these women the support and faith they need to let the child within them grow, come to light, and one day see Him face-to-face.
O St. Gerard, patron and protector of expectant mothers, we implore your intercession before the throne of the Almighty Father for mothers facing crisis pregnancy situations. You who behold the face of the Lord, pray that our sisters will embrace the gift of life bestowed on them by God their Heavenly Father and find genuine care, love, and support from their families, friends and communities.
Take a moment to treasure up all these things and ponder them in your heart (cf Luke 2,19)
Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Col 4:6
