Nowadays, the focus of baby's development is dominated by her physical growth: mothers-to-be and their entourage are taken in the swirl of doctor's appointments, ultrasounds, prenatal check-ups, baby showers… It is then easy to forget that a baby is much more than a growing entity!

Also, pregnancy is far from being an enjoyable cruise: it may be taxing, both physically and mentally, and utterly scary for some.

Let us lift up today these women in our prayers, as they walk the path of life-bearing.

Prayer of the Day

Almighty God, teach these mothers to trust Your fatherly goodness and the intercession of the Mother of Jesus, who knew all the hopes and fears of one who expects a child. 

Dear God, give them courage and fortitude when they need it. Let their child be born strong and healthy, with the disposition for wanting to become a Saint.

Mary, most pure Virgin and Mother of God, obtain for them the grace that they and their child may be protected from all danger, obtain for them the grace to worthily bring into the world the child God created, obtain for this child the blessings of Holy Baptism, may that child be admitted to the Church and to the company of all the saints.

Amen.
