Jesus' advice: Gospel according to St. John (21: 1-8)

After this Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias, and he revealed himself in this way.

Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.

Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We will go with you." They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.

Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

Jesus said to them, "Children, do you have any fish?" Then He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish.

That disciple whom Jesus loved, therefore, said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he was stripped for work, and threw himself into the sea.

The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards off.

Daily action:

Be prepared to receive a surprise from God! Be ready for him! Open up to Him, do not block His way! An offer, or an interview you are not enthusiastic about? Not a problem, go for it anyway! You might change your mind. Maybe this offer or interview will be the door to another opportunity! Say YES, you will have plenty of time to make a decision until the day you have to make a choice, according to your objectives and preferences.

Today:

I apply for this position I have heard about. A position that might scare me a bit or for which I might not be capable of doing.
Or, I go to an interview with a smile even if the post isn't really “me”. The post seems interesting! The fishing will be miraculous, it isn't me who said it!

If you are the sponsor: bombard your friend with messages to encourage him/her. Ask they are getting on. Do not tire of listening or giving advice. Let them know that they can rely on you for help. Keep a positive attitude with them. Tell them that their efforts are bound to bear fruit. The search for employment is a marathon! Your eagerness to help them is a precious gift.
