Invocation to the Holy Ghost :

in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

Come, father of the poor, come, God of charity.
Form in me my prayers show me the truth,
Bring down in my soul a coal from your fire
which penetrates it with flame and fills it with God.
Come, Holy Spirit who makes the martyrs,
Confessors, apostles, prophets, heroes, great hearts.
This is your only conduct that my Saviour followed;
So that I may imitate him, lead me like him.

Prayer to St. Rita :

St. Rita, since your earliest years, you understood how sweet it is to give yourself to the good Lord and you served him with a heart filled with love.

Great are your merits, great too is your power to God.

From the top of heaven, cast a kind look on me.

Get me from Jesus the forgiveness of my faults, the strength to practice virtue.
You we do not call in vain the Advocate of desperate causes, answer my trust and come to my rescue.

St. Rita, your life of sufferings, of apparent failures, of ardent prayer, has made you the saint of desperate causes.
You did not fall back on yourself in anguish and despair.
You turned to the Lord with great confidence.

With you, we entrust to our Heavenly Father and to his son Jesus, our trials, our sorrows, our hopes.
Give us your courage and your patience.
Teach us to overcome our troubles by relieving those of our brothers.
Help us say, like you, the words of Jesus : "My father, thy will be done, and not mine !" Amen.

Lord, my God and my Father, I believe that you are here, present in me, and that you listen with love and kindness to the prayer that I present you, through the intercession of Saint Rita to whom I address myself with confidence.
