Certainly, this book/novena could have been about any other form of waiting, or hope, than family life and conjugal life. It could have been about hoping for a child while being infertile, hoping for healing while ill, hoping for a peaceful passing while going through the many trials of old age... - From the book "Comme des colonnes sculptées"

The action of St. Joseph in our lives

Joseph is a very resourceful man. Like the Father, he takes care of each of our demands. Teresa of Avila wrote: "I took for my advocate and lord the glorious Saint Joseph and commended myself earnestly to him; and I found that this my father and lord delivered me both from this trouble and also from other and greater troubles concerning my honour and the loss of my soul, and that he gave me greater blessings than I could ask of him. I do not remember even now that I have ever asked anything of him which he has failed to grant. […]. To other saints the Lord seems to have given grace to succour us in some of our necessities but of this glorious saint my experience is that he succours us in them all and that the Lord wishes to teach us that as He was Himself subject to him on earth (for, being His guardian and being called His father, he could command Him) just so in Heaven He still does all that he asks. This has also been the experience of other persons whom I have advised to commend themselves to him."

Being united with everyone

Emboldened by your confidence in the intercession of St. joseph, you can unite yourself with those who, like you, are hoping in a grace from God. Offer him your long wait as a gift, with a special thought to those who are missing something precious: a child, work, a home, good health... "For it is in giving that we receive " (St. Francis of Assisi). Offering your sorrows and impatience can help you create something fruitful, a treasure God can use to satisfy those He loves. 

Offer your experience with St. Joseph

Don't wallow in your sorrow, follow the footsteps of St. Joseph and get through this with Jesus! Offer your troubles and hope in the healing of your heart, and in finding the love of your life! 

The Lord promises to "send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing." (Ezekiel 34: 26). God does not count the graces He grants, He always offers more than we can hope for. - From the book "Comme des colonnes sculptées"
