Prayer to live confidently and conquer fear

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Recite the Creed, the Act of Contrition…

Lord Jesus Christ, it is not a spirit of fear that you gave us but “a spirit of power and love and self-control” (2 Tim, 1:7). By the power of your Holy Spirit, drive all spirit of fear away from me. Deliver me from oppression and fright.

Your faithfulness is a shield and armour for me. I will not fear the terrors of the night, nor the scourge that hits at midday. I will not fear the machinations of the wicked, nor “bad luck”, nor accidents, nor failures, nor sickness. Nothing can destroy my confidence placed in You, Jesus Christ, my Lord and my Master.

Thank you Lord Jesus, for freeing me of fear, complaint, impatience and worry. “I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.” (Ps 34:4). From now on, I want to live in assurance and confidence, praising you endlessly, my God, my light and my salvation. I thank you my God!

Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
In Christ is salvation
May Your Salvation Lord be with us always!

Amen

Prayer for the sick

You alone, O Christ, can promptly save Your creation: we implore You, come to visit Your servant N… who is sick. Deliver them from suffering and excesses of pain. Raise them up so that they may sing and glorify You without end, through the prayers of the Mother of God, and all the Saints, O You the one true friend of Men. O Saviour, You made Peter's mother-in-law rise from her sickbed while she was consumed by a burning fever, and You made the paralysed man carry his mat. In your infinite compassion, come now to visit and heal the sick, afflicted in their flesh. For nothing is impossible to You, You alone who carries the suffering and sickness of all the world in Your great mercy.
